Bedtime troubles

Ever since Tyler figured out how to open his bedroom door, nighttime has been interesting. He'll attempt the bathroom trick as many times as possible. He'll want to brush his teeth or tell me a story about movie he saw and include every possible detail. 

Last night Kara had put them to bed. He'd been in bed for almost 2 hrs after we had gotten home. We went up to check on him to find him in the hallway with every sock he had in his drawer on. Ten socks on one foot and right on the other. We pulled them all off and headed to his room. He had done some redecorating while we were gone too. Everything he had in his room was lined up from one end of the wall to the other. All the NuNus, Lincoln logs, socks, shoes, underwear, trash can and toys all lined up. That silly boys seemed pretty proud of his work. 

He grabbed a NuNu and we sat together for a little bit in his room. I put him in his bed and before I left, he asked me to put NuNu back in the line. He decided that NuNus place in line was more important than sleeping in the bed with him:). 

He's made great progress in not sucking his thumb as well. I'm so proud of him:))

Kensley 9 month update

At her 9 month check up she was 18 lbs. 

Still nursing unless she's away from mama and then she has formula. On 2nd foods and doesn't like anything with texture. 

She's rolls and is up on all 4's but not crawling yet. 

At 9 months she started saying dada and giving kisses and clapping her hands when you say yay!

At 10 months she says uh-oh

Kentucky trip May 2014

We left Kensley sleeping at home with Poppy and took Tyler on his first date with mommy and daddy. We sat outside at O'Charleys in Evansville. He was so excited!

We ended up with a loaner from Jim Norton because the rav4 had a recall. We had a nice ride out here. Complete with DVD player that Tyler has taken total advantage of:)

We met with Uncle Jackie and Aunt Patsy for breakfast at Cracker Barrell. 

We are going to Moonlight Inn tomorrow with the rest of the family. 

We all went to the park this morning. 

Matt fixed the AC and a trip to Lowes was in order. 

Nana gave Ty a haircut too!

The night before we left, we went to Evansville and had a lamb chops and lobster fettuccini.

Birthdays

So Tyler is totally into birthdays. He is always asking who's birthday is next and making sure we have birthday hats, cake and balloons. 

After mommy's birthday yesterday, he realized that his bday was next. Let me preface the next part by saying that he is totally into apps on mommy's phone. He knows about the "loading" time it take for one of his games to come up. 

This morning he's in the kitchen and he yells out, "Is my birthday loading?"

Our first Platted attempt

Our first order was seared tuna with tapenade and linguine. It required a very hot pan to roast the red pepper. I didn't let it cool off enough before pouring in the olive oil. That turned into a smoking, stinky mess!  Matt ran the pan out to the garage and I attempted to air out the house. It was so smokey we ended up up our dinner outside in the cold on the patio. It turned out pretty yummy though!

Pei Wei

The first time Tyler is in a booster and Kensley in a high chair. She was all about the action going in around her.

Sister was dedicated on March 9, 2014. She got a bible and Ty for a "big brother" book. He loves his devo:)
